An Automatic Derivation Method for Creation of Complex Map Symbols in a Topographic Map

The topographic map plays a very important role in economic construction. In the process of drawing maps, different symbols represent ground objects, but representing complex objects are often complicated and difficult to create. Moreover, creation can seriously affect efficiency production. Therefore, this paper proposes an automatic derivation method for map. data used new geographic entity under background Chinese fundamental surveying mapping situation. Firstly, four modes summarized, including feature-point mode, centroid feature-line parallel-line mode; then, using singly or combination, directly derived from based on programming, cartographic result is obtained automatically. Finally, some maps Shanxi Province, China, validation symbols. experimental results show that proposed automatically derive map, greatly improving production obtaining good visualization effect. approach situation realizes transformation upgrading achievements.
